UPDATED 9/22/21- Top Tips for Snagging a Rise of the Resistance Boarding Pass

Updated: Disney has announced that beginning on September 23, 2021, they will be pausing its use of the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Walt Disney World.  A traditional stand-by queue will be used instead for guests to experience the attraction. They did mention in the announcement that they may reactivate the virtual queue based on crowd levels in the park. This is the first time that Rise of the Resistance has used a standby queue since it first opened in 2019. ****************************************   If you’re heading to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, you should definitely have Rise of the Resistance on your MUST DO list! Rise of the Resistance is located in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios and it is the most technologically advanced attraction that Disney has ever created. It utilizes four different ride systems to create the highly sought after attraction that is truly unlike anything else at Disney World. It’s not just a ride, it’s an experience that has been in high demand since it’s opening in December 2019.    Here are tips you need in order to have your best chance at a Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group!    First things first, make sure you have your Park Reservation for Hollywood Studios.  Due to the popularity of Rise of the Resistance, Hollywood Studios is typically the most difficult park to get a reservation for. You can check Theme Park Reservation Availability Here! Second, download and familiarize yourself with the My Disney Experience app. This app is necessary in order to join a boarding group (which is a virtual queue) for the Rise of the Resistance. Learn how to access the virtual queue page and make sure your entire party is linked together on your Friends & Family list. You can either do that on the app or on the Walt Disney World website.  Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups become available at 7 am and 1 pm each day. On the day of your Hollywood Studios Park Reservation, you want to attempt to get a 7 am boarding group. The 7 am groups are available from ANYWHERE, whereas the 1 pm groups MUST be joined from inside the park (at this time, you can not park hop over to Hollywood Studios to try to join a boarding group at 1 pm.) The boarding groups fill up almost instantly so you want to make sure that your fingers are moving quickly! It may be helpful to turn the Wi-Fi off on your phone if you’re connected to Disney’s Wi-Fi since there are likely many other guests connected at this same time.  A few minutes before 7 am, open the My Disney Experience app and as soon as you see the clock strike 7, click Join under the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Request Access with Virtual Queue section.  The app will then auto-select the people in your Friends & Family list that have a Hollywood Studios park pass. You don’t want to waste time changing the list of selected guests at this point. You’ll want to hit the blue JOIN button on the bottom of the page as quickly as you can.  If you secured a boarding group, Congratulations! You’ll then see a confirmation screen that shows which boarding group number you have been assigned and an estimated wait. The My Disney Experience App will tell you what groups are being called, so keep an eye on it! If you’ve allowed notifications from the app, it will tell you when your group is called and how long you have to report to the attraction. If you don’t get a boarding pass during your 7 am attempt, make sure that everyone has already entered the park for the day and try again at 1 pm by following the same steps!  The steps to securing a Rise of the Resistance Boarding Pass are pretty easy, it’s just a matter of being prepared and knowing these tips before you go! It is definitely worth the extra effort to experience this amazing attraction!

Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Orlando- Review

My family and I enjoyed a stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Orlando in July 2021 to kick off our celebration of my son’s 13th birthday! It was our first visit to this resort and I chose it based on the proximity to Volcano Bay (which was the first park we were heading to,) the fun, retro-style theming and the pool areas! Let me share my thoughts! We arrived on a Sunday at around 11:30 am. As we drove up to the resort, I was already impressed with how the theming of the resort was in place from the minute you lay eyes on the resort! The vintage cars parked out front were a definite eye catcher and grabbed my son’s attention right away! Stepping into the lobby was a different story though. We were immediately greeted with a super long line that didn’t seem to be moving very fast. While I waited patiently in line, my husband and two boys wandered around the resort for a bit and hung out on the loungers in the lobby. It took me approximately 45 minutes from start to finish and I was thankful that we had gotten there when we did because the line only grew longer and longer as I stood there. So, right out of the gate, we learned a valuable lesson about the best arrival time….get there early (or probably really late in the day would work too) in order to possibly avoid the long check in line! Once we were all checked in, we dropped our luggage with luggage services and headed out to the pool area. There are 2 pool areas at Cabana Bay and one includes a lazy river! The lazy river was a big hit with all four of us! It was so relaxing especially since you could take your drink with you as you floated! A pro tip that we learned was that you can bring your own floats to use! Buy a $1 float from the Dollar Tree and pack it in your suitcase. You can have it inflated for free and then you can either discard it or better yet, gift it to someone else before leaving! Otherwise, you can buy floats there for around $7 a piece! Another tip is to bring a sharpie pen with you because with so many floats there at the pool and many of them look alike since they’re being purchased there,  yours could easily be picked up by someone else. Ours actually did but when I went over to the float stand and explained what had happened they gave me two new floats without a question. While we were enjoying the pool, we got a few drinks from The Hideaway Bar & Grill which was tucked over to the side of  The Lazy River Courtyard and Pool area. It had a lot of shaded area which was a nice break from the sun as we waited for our drinks. My husband enjoyed a beer and I choose the Hideaway Colada, which was a little bit too sweet for me (and I like sweet!) With a rain cloud moving in, we went inside for a quick bite at Bayliner Diner, which is a food court with various food stations.  We each enjoyed our selections and wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again. The lines moved relatively quickly and it was pretty much your standard food court fare. It was now time to retrieve our luggage and head up to our family suite! Once we entered, I was so glad that I had chosen this style room. It was perfect for our family (which includes two teenage boys) because it had ample room for everyone to spread out. As soon as you walked in to the suite, you entered a kitchenette area with all of the modern amenities and a counter with two bar stools. The living area had a pull-out sofa, a flat screen tv and two chairs. There was a sliding partition that separated the living area from the rest of the space which included two queen size beds, a full-size closet (which I was totally impressed with,) another flat screen TV, and the bathroom space.  The bathroom space was very functional and made getting ready in the mornings for our family of four a lot easier with a separate shower area as well as a toilet with doors and a vanity. I was amazed with the retro theming that was even carried out into the bathroom with Alberto V05 shampoo and Zest soap. What a pleasant blast from the past! The retro decor of the suite made the space bright and vibrant and although we didn’t get the instagrammable view of Volcano Bay that some of the rooms offer, it did not bother us for the amount of time we were actually in the room! That night we took the bus over to CityWalk to have dinner and explore! The bus stop was conveniently located right out front and we had really great luck with it always being there when we needed it! I know that’s probably bot always the case but we sure did have impeccable timing! With only one other resort sharing the bus, our trip over to CityWalk only took us about 10 minutes! The next morning, we were off to Volcano Bay and since it’s only a short walk from the resort, it was one of the top reasons why I chose to stay here. There are signs on the walking path that lead you to the water park. If you go out of the front lobby doors and head right and continue on the sidewalk you will start seeing the signage. It only took us about 5-10 minutes to get over there and by staying at a Universal Resort we were able to enter Volcano Bay one hour prior to it’s opening which was nice! After enjoying a fun day at Volcano Bay, it was so nice to just have an easy walk back to our room. There’s something to be said for Location, Location, Location!! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Cabana Bay! With it being one of Universal’s prime value resorts, it is definitely an affordable option for families.  There is lots of entertainment to enjoy on the property with the two massive pools, a 10 lane bowling alley (which we didn’t get to enjoy this trip,) a well equipped gym, a Starbucks, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and different eateries and lounges. It’s a great resort to have a free day at so you can enjoy all of it has to offer. With it’s convenient location close to all of the Universal theme parks and CityWalk and the classic Florida beach resort vibe from the 1950’s and 1960’s, I think Cabana Bay Beach Resort is definitely worth the value! Check out our room tour on the VacationtoHappiness YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THhB5CRbOFc&t=44s I’d love to help you plan a fun trip to Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort- send me a quote request here: http://vacationtohappiness.com/request-a-quote/

Should you make a trip to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs?

Gideon’s Bakehouse is a popular spot in the heart of Disney Springs and after trying 3 different flavors of cookies out for myself during a recent trip to Orlando, I have to say, I’m in love! I could be a little biased because I am a self-proclaimed “sweetaholic” but even my husband thought the cookies were simply amazing! Let me share with you a little bit about Gideon’s Bakehouse and why I think their cookies are worth every calorie!! First, I love a small business and Gideon’s Bakehouse started as just that! The first location opened in 2016 with a single employee and with only $800! It quickly became a part of the central Orlando food scene and after taking the plunge to open their second location in Disney Springs, Gideon’s Bakehouse has gained International attention for their nearly 1/2 pound, small batch, handmade cookies! I love the vibe of the bakehouse.  Walking in, my first impression was that it was small but after looking around at the rest of the decor, I ultimately think that’s part of it’s charm. It’s dark inside with funky artwork (imagine a haunted house meets Victorian design.) I honestly couldn’t take it all in between all of the artwork, the delicious aromas and the cookie cases filled with so many choices! One interesting tidbit that I discovered after doing a little bit of research is  that the location that is now Gideon’s used to be Lindwurm Bookseller, which explains the library feel of the decor. That fact coupled with the very intriguing statement that can be found on the Gideon’s Bakehouse website, “There appears to be a deep and complicated history of the building we inhabit at our Disney Springs location. We’ve managed to uncover some interesting information about the original owner of our vintage space (seen here in a photo that was found in our walls during construction), and it feels like he is unveiling more to us as we rebuild what once was. Care to know more? Visit us in our new location and ask us what we’ve learned. More of the story unfolds with each passing week.” is enough reason in itself that I’ll be paying Gideon’s another visit in order to ask about what they’ve uncovered. Who doesn’t love a little bit of mystery?!? Because of the popularity of Gideon’s Bakehouse, getting to go in is much like riding a popular ride! They open at 10 am but on most days, the line starts forming at 9 am when the parking garage at Disney Springs opens and when their line gets too long they open a virtual queue . So, if you are going to want to make a visit, make sure you swing by the entrance right when you arrive at Disney Springs and get your name on the list. Then you can go walk around and enjoy some shopping, other eateries or entertainment at Disney Springs and when it’s time, you’ll get a text to return. You still may have to wait maybe 20 minutes or so but it’s well worth it! Some other important things to know if you plan to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs: They also have cake slices and coffee drinks! One of the most popular items that I’ve heard rave reviews about is their Peanut Butter Cold Brew! This is a house made blend of real peanuts, a dash of salt, and a smooth cold brew. Everyone that I know who has gotten this has said that’s it’s definitely something that they will get again so I can’t wait to try it! Each month, there are limited edition options to choose from! Their September 2021 Limited Edition flavor is a Lemon Poppyseed! But they also keep some of their originals like The Original Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Crunch on the menu!     My final thoughts on Gideon’s Bakehouse are this, Yes, you should make a visit! Yes, the cookies are delicious! Yes, it’s worth getting in the virtual queue! And my pro tip is, the cookies are great to share and to take back to your resort to enjoy as a midnight snack after a long park day!!     Have you been to Gideon’s? Leave what menu item you’ve tried in the comments below!

What makes a Disney Cruise so Magical?

With the recent announcements about the upcoming Disney Wish, it’s an exciting time for Disney Cruise Line fans. If you are looking to book your first cruise with Disney Cruise Line, you might be wondering what makes sailing on one of their ships so magical. Let’s take a look at what you can expect when you head out to sea with Disney Cruise Line in the upcoming years. Stateroom Amenities One of your first considerations when booking a cruise is where you are going to stay. With Disney Cruise Line, you’ll enjoy an excellent choice of staterooms. Regardless of your budget and travel party size, you’ll find something that’s suitable for your needs. On some of the ships, even the interior staterooms benefit from magical portholes, where you’ll get to take a peek outside and see what’s going on in the world around you. If you are heading to sea on a special trip, consider upgrading to a concierge stateroom, which benefits from additional amenities and services. One of the highlights of the upcoming Disney Wish is the two-story Tower Suite, which is located in the ship’s funnel. It looks absolutely incredible from the initial concept art and would make for the vacation of a lifetime for your family. Dining The dining options onboard Disney Cruise Line really set it apart from other cruise lines today. You’ll enjoy rotational dining, one of my favorite parts of the dining experience, where you will visit a new restaurant each evening. At the beginning of your cruise you will receive a dining schedule and then each night, you, your table-mates and servers will rotate between the highly-themed restaurants, such as Tiana’s Place, Rapunzel’s Royal Table, and Animator’s Palate. With the Disney Wish, we are excited to see the addition of Worlds of Marvel, where you’ll enjoy a superhero adventure as you dine, and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure! Your children won’t mind sitting through dinner each night with the adults, as there’s so much going on to keep them entertained and better yet, if you choose to dine late, your children can be picked up from your table by the Oceaneer Counselors around 9:15 pm which allows you to enjoy the remainder of your meal kid free so you can linger over your dessert or maybe a nice glass of wine.  Entertainment While you may think that Disney Cruise Line is mainly for families with young children, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Disney Cruise Line really does offer something for everyone. Even if you stayed on the ship for the whole of your cruise, you’d never be bored between the spa, fitness center, water slides, pools, and full activity program. With the Disney Wish, we can’t wait to head on the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, the Aqua Mouse. Kids can enjoy heading to the Kids Clubs, which offer immersive experiences featuring many of their favorite Disney characters. Each night, you’ll want to visit the onboard theater to witness a live Disney production, such as Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, where you’ll feel like you are on Broadway watching a show. Of all the entertainment, one of the most spectacular experiences is watching the fireworks display at sea! It really is a special moment that might bring a tear to your eye!  Magical Disney Touches What sets Disney Cruise Line apart is, of course, the addition of the beloved Disney characters on the ships. Each day, you’ll have the chance to meet your favorite characters in meet and greets and various activities. On top of that, as you explore the ship, you’ll notice hundreds of hidden Disney touches. However, for adults, you’ll be impressed by how sophisticated the ship is. From the moment you walk into the atrium for the first time, you won’t want to get off the ship. Castaway Cay If you choose to sail with Disney Cruise Line from Port Canaveral or other US ports, almost all cruises spend a day at Castaway Cay. Located in the Bahamas, this private island is only visited by Disney Cruise Line, and it will be one of the highlights of your cruise. Whether you want to sit on the beach all day or enjoy water-based adventures, kids and adults alike will remember their day at Castaway Cay forever. For travelers without kids, there’s an adults-only beach, so you can enjoy a relaxing day in paradise. Seasonal Sailings and Special Itineraries One of the reasons that so many people return to Disney Cruise Line over and again is their special sailings and seasonal celebrations. Keep an eye out to see where the ships are sailing each year, as they usually head over to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. On top of that, you’ll find themed cruises such as the Marvel Day at Sea, Star Wars Day at Sea, Halloween Cruises, and Holiday Cruises. With so much to see and do on a Disney Cruise Line sailing, it’s no surprise they have gathered such a loyal fan base over the years. Whether you are just looking to take a short cruise to test the waters or head out on a longer adventure, there are many different itineraries to choose from to fit your vacation needs. In 2022, we are excited to welcome the Disney Wish to the fleet, which will be another fantastic addition to Disney Cruise Line’s offerings.

How to Choose the Right Disney World Resort for your Next Trip

There’s such excitement surrounding the decision to take a trip to Walt Disney World! As your planning begins, one of the most important first steps in the process is choosing the right Disney World Resort for you and your family! There are many factors to consider when making this decision and with 31 Disney World Resorts, it can be very overwhelming. There are really no bad choices but some will meet your needs better than others whether it is due to your budget, the location of what park you want to be close to and/or what transportation you want to have access to or the amenities that the resort will offer. So, let’s begin by reviewing the different resort categories.    Disney’s Value Resorts The Value Resorts are the most affordable option when it comes to choosing a Disney World Resort. There are 5 of these resorts and each of them scream Disney with their fun themes, vibrant colors and larger than life decorations such as the 41-foot tall Rubik’s Cube at Disney’s Pop Century Resort or the 40 foot Pongo Statue in the 101 Dalmatians themed section of the newly renovated Disney’s All-Star Movies resort which just reopened on March 22, 2021.  These rooms do not offer as much space as the other resort categories with an average of around 260 square feet but if that’s important in your search, Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s All Star Music Resorts do offer larger rooms called Family Suites.  These resorts still offer themed pools (though none of the pools have slides) and Quick Service Dining Options. Other amenities similar to the other resort categories include gift shops where you can find your favorite Disney Merchandise and free transportation.  The bus service runs from all of the value resorts and now Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation have the option of the Skyliner! The Skyliner Gondola system will take guests from these resorts to Hollywood Studios and Epcot which is a huge perk!     Disney’s Moderate Resorts The Moderate Resorts as you can imagine, fall somewhere between the Value and Deluxe Resorts in terms of cost, room size, transportation options and other amenities. Some refer to the Moderate Resorts as a sweet spot because they offer a little bit more luxury but are still in tune with a family budget.  Although the rooms still have an outdoor entry like Value Resorts, they offer families a bit more space with an average of 314 square feet. Moderate Resorts do have more of a resort-style atmosphere offering both quick service and table service options for meals such as Three Bridges Bar & Grill, a lakefront, open air restaurant at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. They have organized activities for the kids and themed pools with slides and interactive water features.  Although Moderate Resorts are closer to the parks than the Value Resorts, they are still not within walking distance and some of them offer different styles of complimentary transportation other than the bus. Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter both have a water taxi service that takes guests to Disney Springs, The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort offers a water taxi or ferry to the Magic Kingdom and the main hub of Disney’s Skyliner is located at the Caribbean Beach Resort.  Three Bridges Bar & Grill   Disney’s Deluxe Resorts The Deluxe Resorts offer elaborate themes, more transportation options, lots of amenities and the convenience of location. With all of these perks the cost is more expensive but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.  With the exception of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, all of the Deluxe Resorts offer more than just bus transportation to get you to and from the parks including the monorail, skyliner, water taxi, ferry or walkway. The location of these resorts and the direct access to at least one park really can’t be beat!  At these resorts you’ll find quick service, table service, fine dining and Character dining with the newest Character meal, Breakfast `a la Art with Mickey & Friends, located at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort.  Other amenities include larger rooms starting at 344 square feet, fitness centers, spas, resort specific activities and waterpark-style pools such as Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts where you will find a huge pool featuring a sandy bottom, a lazy river and their shipwreck water slide or Disney’s Polynesian Resort Pool featuring a Volcano, a waterfall and their 142 foot long water slide.  The Deluxe Resorts also offer a Concierge-Level room, also known as Club-Level, which offers access to a private lounge with complimentary food and beverages, exclusive tours that are offered at certain Deluxe Resorts and a dedicated person to assist you with specific requests. Boardwalk Inn   Disney’s Deluxe Villa Resorts The Deluxe Villa Resorts are primarily designed for the Disney Vacation Club (DVC,) Disney’s timeshare program, but these rooms are released regularly to Disney and can be booked by non-DVC guests. Many of these Resorts are housed on the same property of a corresponding Deluxe Resort with the exception of Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort and the newest Deluxe Villa Resort, Riviera Resort. The amenities of these rooms can be pretty expansive including 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas with full kitchens, dining areas, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer and jacuzzi tubs.  1 Bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs   With all of the options that you have to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect match for you and your family regardless of which Resort you select. Whether it’s a Value, Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa, there is nothing that can beat staying in the heart of the magic and living in the “Disney Bubble” from the moment you arrive to the time you leave your magical vacation!

What do FOUR Amazing Theme Parks and TWO Unbelievable Water Parks Equal? ONE Magical Experience at Walt Disney World

When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, you have multiple parks to choose from. While most visitors plan to spend at least one day in each of the main theme parks, if you are opting for a shorter trip, you will want to know the difference between them to help plan your time. Today we’re going to look at the four theme parks and two water parks that make up Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom When you think of a trip to Walt Disney World, no doubt the Cinderella Castle springs to mind. As the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom, seeing the castle is one of the highlights of any trip to Walt Disney World. However, there’s so much more to this park. You enter the park through the iconic Main Street, U.S.A., and from there, you can head off to explore the various lands that make up the park. Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland all have something to offer visitors of all ages, and there’s a great combination of family-friendly attractions and more thrilling rides here. Epcot Epcot was the second park to open in Walt Disney World. It’s split into two areas: Future World and World Showcase. When you enter the park, you’ll see the iconic Spaceship Earth. Future World has most of the park’s major attractions, including Test Track and Soarin’. This area is all about discovery and education, with a focus on the environment, space, and progress in our world. Heading into World Showcase, you’ll find eleven different countries spread around the World Showcase Lagoon. Enjoy learning about the culture of each of these countries while sampling some delicious food and drink that’s unique to each pavilion. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates your favorite Disney and Hollywood movies with a fantastic selection of attractions and shows. The most recent addition to the park is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which offers two signature attractions and a huge themed land to explore. Toy Story Land is another popular area with families and celebrates the beloved Pixar movies. This is a great park for the thrill-seekers in your family, who will love riding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Disney’s Animal Kingdom The newest of the four Walt Disney World theme parks is Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which opened on Earth Day back in 1998. The park offers a slightly different experience from the other three theme parks, primarily due to it also being home to hundreds of animals. You’ll enjoy heading on a safari at Kilimanjaro Safaris and visiting the smaller creatures at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The newest addition to this park is Pandora – The World of Avatar. Take a ride on the signature attraction in this land, Flight of Passage, or go for a more leisurely ride on the Na’vi River Journey. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon If you need to cool off during your visit to Walt Disney World, head to one of the two on-site water parks. First up, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is home to one of the largest wave pools in the world. The central icon of the park, Mount Mayday, erupts every half an hour to offer incredible waves for swimmers. There are body slides and tube rides for the whole family here, with highlights including Humunga Kowabunga and Crush ‘n’ Gusher. Disney’s Blizzard Beach The second water park in Walt Disney World is Disney’s Blizzard Beach. The theme of the water park is that of an abandoned ski resort, and you’ll enjoy green, red, and purple slopes filled with slides. Take the ski lift up to the top of the park, where you can ride Summit Plummet all the way down. This is one of the tallest and fastest free-fall slides in the world. There are plenty of other great attractions to choose from, and smaller children will enjoy playing in Tike’s Peak. So there you have the six parks that make up Walt Disney World. If you can, I highly recommend planning a day at each of the parks on your next trip. They all have something unique to offer visitors, and you’ll enjoy exploring everything they have to offer on your next vacation.

Visiting Walt Disney World in 2021 – Steps Disney is Taking For Your Safety

With travel already restarting following the recent pandemic, Walt Disney World is one of the top destinations that families from around the world are excited to return to. Travel at the moment is a very personal decision, but I am happy to report that Disney has put in place many safety precautions for visitors this year. With so much to look forward to, including upcoming celebrations and attraction openings, 2021 will be a popular time to visit Walt Disney World.   Theme Park Reservations One of the biggest changes at Walt Disney World since the recent pandemic is the introduction of park reservations. These work to limit the capacity in the four theme parks each day. To visit any of the theme parks, you need to have a valid park reservation, and park hopping is only available after 2 pm each day. With exciting celebrations such as the resort’s 50th Anniversary coming up on October 1st, 2021, this is a way for guests to be able to safely enjoy their favorite attractions and theme parks without overcrowding. The 50th Anniversary celebrations will span over eighteen months, so even if you plan a visit in 2022, you’ll be able to get in on the fun. Safety Precautions During a trip to Walt Disney World this year, you will be required to wear a face covering. Disney has just announced these may be removed for photo opportunities, but apart from that, you’ll want to feel comfortable knowing you have to wear a mask all day long. At both the resorts and theme parks, social distancing is encouraged, and you’ll have your temperature checked each day at the parks.   The resorts are also operating at a lower capacity, as are the buses and monorails. For a Walt Disney World trip this year, I highly recommend staying at a resort with walking access to some of the theme parks. The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts would be ideal for the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction opening in Epcot this year. We are also hoping the new fireworks show in Epcot, Harmonious, will have an opening date soon. For anyone visiting the parks this year, I recommend downloading the My Disney Experience app. This will offer you contactless payment, contactless entry to the theme parks, and online check-in.  Dining Changes When planning a trip to Walt Disney World this year, you’ll find dining has also changed quite a bit. A high percentage of restaurants are now open for guests, and they are limiting capacity similar to the parks. Before visiting Walt Disney World this year, always make advanced dining reservations for any must-do restaurants for your family.   My family loves heading to Disney Springs during our trip, where there are many new restaurants and dining locations for visitors to try. Gideon’s Bakehouse is a popular new addition to the area, and they are using a virtual queue to manage the popularity of this location. Also, make sure you try out Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, which offers hand-crafted donuts at Disney Springs. As far as dining, don’t miss out on the extended Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which is returning on the much earlier date of July 15th, 2021, and runs through to November.   As you can see, there is still so much to enjoy on a 2021 trip to Walt Disney World. Disney has put a wide variety of safety precautions in place to ease the return to theme parks for their guests. If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World in 2021 and have any questions about your upcoming vacation, don’t hesitate to contact us here at Fantastical Vacations today.
